I have extensive experience of working on the brain, heart and kidney circulation, obtaining and analysing imaging data acquired in vivo using Two-Photon and Confocal microscopy, laser speckle contrast imaging and laser Doppler. I also have significant expertise at immunohistochemical and molecular biology studies. Specifically, I have been working for the past 10 years on projects investigating in vivo changes of capillary density, leukocyte rolling and adhesion, microvascular reactivity, vascular permeability and blood flow in experimental models of hyperthyroidism, diabetes, hypertension , cerebral hypoperfusion (Bilateral carotid vessel occlusion), stroke (MCAo) and heart and kidney ischaemia.

Simvastatin improves cerebral microvascular perfusion and attenuates angiotensin II-induced microcirculatory changes in a model of essential hypertension
