Associate Professor Glaucia Moraes de Oliveira

Dra Moraes obtained both her MSc (1992) and Ph.D. (2003) degrees at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). At present, she is a full-time Associate Professor at the Medical School. Since 2009 she is the General Manager of the UFRJ Graduate Program in Cardiology, and Research Coordinator of The Heart Institute Edson Saad at the same University. She became a BSC member in 1985 and was elected president of the Rio de Janeiro Society of Cardiology for the term 2012-2013. She is fellow of ESC and ACC. At present, she is Deputy Editor of both BSC journals, the Arq. Bras. Cardiol and the IJCS. She holds a solid academic background in clinical/general cardiology, as well as in clinical cardiovascular research. She published papers focused on: preventive cardiology, health technology assessment, atherosclerosis, nutrition, and CV risk factors. Her performance has rendered her national and international awards and recognition.
