Doctor Alessio Alogna

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alessio Alogna is a board-certified cardiologist and critical care specialist with 15 years of research experience in preclinical and clinical heart failure. He earned his medical degree from the University of Pavia (Italy) and obtained a PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology from the Medical University of Graz (Austria) under the supervision of Prof. Burkert Pieske. Dr. Alogna completed his clinical training and obtained his habilitation in 2023 at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (Germany), supported by the “Clinician Scientist Excellence Program” of the Berlin Institute of Health (BIH). In 2022, he was a visiting research fellow at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester (USA) in the group of Prof. Barry Borlaug, and he has since been a research collaborator at the Mayo Clinic.
