FAWAZ AKHRAS is a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Cromwell Hospital London and is the MD of Cardiac Healthcare Services in Harley Street. He has dual accreditation including AGM. He has clinical expertise that encompasses the assessment and management of patients with CAD. He has published & presented 173 research papers in peer-reviewed international medical journals, of which 16 have been keynote lectures at national and international conferences. He was one of the first to develop & publish on the new QT physiological pacemaker. He set up the cardiac interventional centre and research programme at Jeddah Military Hospital, which was the first regional centre to treat patients with AMI by primary PTCA. He also developed the first interventional programme in Syria, which was integrated into multi-centre European studies. He is the recipient of several awards. He is a FESC, FACC, FAHA, BCS, BCIS and the BSE. He is a Member of the Order of William Harvey at the ACC.
