Dr Papatheodorou graduated from the University of Athens (GR) in 2007 and trained in cardiology in Athens and London (UK). His main clinical and research interests are the investigation of inherited cardiac conditions predisposing to sudden death, sports cardiology and non-invasive cardiovascular imaging. He is a PhD candidate at St George’s University of London investigating the cardiovascular adaptation to chronic exercise in older athletes.
He has published in prestigious journals including JACC, Circulation, EHJ, BJSM and Europace. He has presented his work in major congresses including the ESC Congress where he won awards for best moderated poster (ESC 2017) and for best clinical case finalist (ESC 2018).
He currently works at the Unit of Inherited and Rare Cardiovascular diseases at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center and is actively involved in the Greek National Network for Precision Medicine in Cardiology and Young Sudden Cardiac Death Prevention.
