Professor Margus Viigimaa

Professor Margus Viigimaa MD, PhD, FESC, FACC Positions - Head of the Centre for Cardiovascular Medicine, Tallinn University of Technology and Research Head of the Centre of Cardiology, North Estonia Medical Centre. M. Viigimaa has published more than 300 original scientific papers. He has been served as a Council Member of the European Society of Hypertension (2005-2013). M. Viigimaa is the President of the Baltic Atherosclerosis Society, Past President of the Estonian Society of Cardiology, and vice president of the Estonian Society of Hypertension. He is a member of the editorial board of the journals Cardiology, Blood Pressure, High Blood Pressure & Cardiovascular Prevention etc. He is the honorary member of the Swedish Society of Hypertension, Hungarian Society of Hypertension and the Bulgarian Hypertension League. Professor Viigimaa has been awarded a Gold medal of the Ukraine National Academy of Medical Sciences and an honorary medal “Ak Jurek” of Kazakhstan.
