Biography
Dr Katarzyna Malaczynska-Rajpold is a consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist with a rich background in cardiology. After completing her medical school and cardiology training in Poznan, Poland, with a focus on pulmonary circulation, her interest shifted to cardiac arrhythmias during her PhD research on three-dimensional reconstructions of post-infarction scar as a substrate for ventricular tachycardia at Poznan University of Medical Sciences, sparking her interest in cardiac electrophysiology. This led her to further specialise in cardiac electrophysiology and implantable devices at Royal Brompton Hospital, London, where she became a locum consultant electrophysiologist in 2022. Since 2023, she has held a joint consultant position at Royal Brompton Hospital and Lister Hospital in Stevenage. She has actively contributed to the field as the chair of the Young EP Committee at the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA) and a member of the EHRA Board since 2020.
