JOAO MORAIS, 1954, cardiologist (1988), Head of the Cardiology Division in Leiria Hospital Centre (Portugal) between 2001-2024; Affiliate Professor in Oporto Medical School since 2014; Honorary Professor in Leiria and West University, since 2024 He is currently Honorary President of Portuguese Society of Cardiology and President of the European and Mediterranean League Against Thrombotic Diseases In the ESC, JM was member of the Nominating Committee (two terms); member of the Advocacy Committee; member of the Commiitee on Practice Guidelines (two terms); member of the Nucleus of the Working Group on Thrombosis for more than 10 years ( chairman 2016-2018) JM is author and co-author in 200 manuscripts published in peer review journals and made more than 700 presentations by invitation JM was awarded by the mayor of Leiria city by high health services provided to the local community
