Doctor Daniel Forman

Daniel Forman is a Cardiologist and Geriatrician. He is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh (Divisions of Cardiology and Geriatrics), with faculty appointments at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) and the VA Pittsburgh Health System (VAPHS). At University of Pittsburgh, he is Chair of Geriatric Cardiology. At the University of Pittsburgh’s Aging Institute, he is Associate Director of Translational Research and Director of Emerging Therapeutics. At the VAPHS, he is the Director of Translational Research of the Geriatrics Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC) and Director of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Gerofit programs. Dr. Forman’s research centers on goals to improve physical function in older adults with cardiovascular disease and frailty, including: 1. Novel translational approaches to enhance skeletal muscle mitochondrial bioenergetics and 2. Novel clinical approaches to improve cardiac rehabilitation.
