Doctor Styliani Vakrou

Dr. Styliani Vakrou is a Cardiology Consultant specialised in Inherited Cardiac Conditions, Heart Failure and Imaging (CMR and echo). Upon completion of her cardiology training in Athens, Greece she further pursued a Post-CCT fellowship on Inherited Cardiac Conditions and Heart Failure at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, where she was also trained in cardiac MRI. She earned her PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens and has completed a post-doctoral research fellowship with focus on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, USA.Currently she works at the 2nd Department of Cardiology, “Attikon” University Hospital, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with special clinical and research interest in ICCs, heart failure, genetics and cardio-rheumatology. She pursues involvement in ESC activities and it's an honor to be member of the HFA General Committee “Heart Failure Matters”.
