Biography
Nobuaki Tanaka, MD, is Director of Internal Medicine at Sakurabashi Watanabe Advanced Healthcare Hospital, Osaka, Japan, and also serves as Director of the Cardiovascular Center and Director of Cardiac Electrophysiology. He graduated from Osaka University Medical School in 2005 and began his clinical training at Kansai Rosai Hospital.
Dr Tanaka specializes in cardiac arrhythmia management, particularly pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment of atrial fibrillation. He has performed more than 3,000 catheter ablation procedures and has extensive experience in cardiac device implantation.
His research focuses on atrial fibrillation ablation strategies, pulmonary vein isolation, low-voltage-area ablation, sleep apnea in patients with atrial fibrillation, and recurrence after catheter ablation. He has published widely in cardiovascular and electrophysiology journals and contributed to the 2024 focused update of the Japanese Circulation Society guideline on arrhythmia treatment.
