Biography
Marie Stugaard is Associate Professor at University of Oslo, and clinical cardiologist at Ringerike Hospital, Hønefoss, Norway. She obtained her PhD on studies defining physical principles and physiological underpinnings using color M-mode Doppler in quantifying left ventricular diastolic function. She spent 2 years as postdoc fellow at Cleveland Clinic, USA, funded by a grant from American Heart Association. She mainly worked on color M mode and extracting intraventricular pressure gradient. For family reasons she has lived in Japan many years, and there she took the opportunity to work at Osaka University, doing research on new Vector Flow Mapping methods. Since 2019 she has moved back to Norway to work clinically and continue her research career, recently also including left atrial function.
