Assistant Professor Mihaela Popescu

Mihaela Roxana Popescu, MD, PhD, MSc,FESC, is Assistant Professor of Cardiology at "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, and a practising cardiologist at Elias University Emergency Hospital. She holds a PhD and Habilitation in Medicine and an MSc in Clinical Trials from the University of Oxford. Her research spans acute coronary syndromes and post-infarction remodelling, cardiovascular risk in diabetes and pregnancy, heart failure, and the application of artificial intelligence to cardiovascular risk profiling. She has authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications and textbooks included in the Romanian national medical curriculum. A Fellow of the ESC, she serves on ESC reviewing committees, chairs congress sessions, and is a member of the ESC Academy Alumni Task Force, and DEI committeeof the HFA. Her academic interests include clinical trial methodology and improving research capacity in Eastern Europe.
