Biography
As a general pratitioner, specialized in cardiovascular disease I work in the Julius Health Centrers and also as an assistant professor at the Julius Center where I supervise PhD students. My research focuses on cardiovascular risk management, population-management, and implementation of guidelines. I am board member of the Dutch Society of GPs with special interest in CVD, involved in the European Primary Care Cardiovascular Society and the past chair of the Primary Care and Risk Factor Management Nucleus of the European Association of Preventive Cardiology. A strong connection between primary and specialist care is essential to improve CVD prevention.
