Professor Andrea Ungar graduated Magna cum Laude from the University of Florence, School of Medicine in Florence, Italy. He proceeded to complete his fellowships in Geriatrics and Cardiology in 1996 and 2000 respectively. After that, he completed his Ph.D. at the University of Florence in Clinical Physiopathology of Aging. In 2017, Professor Ungar became Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Geriatrics. Professor Ungar currently serves as Director of the Geriatrics and Intensive Care Unit Hypertension Centre – Syncope Unit at the University of Florence and Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria Careggi. He is an author of more than 300 publications and a member of several national and international research boards. Professor Ungar is a member of the Task Force for the European Society of Cardiology Guidelines on Syncope and President of the Gruppo Italiano Multidisciplinare sulla sincope (GIMSI) and Chief of Special Interest Group on Cardiovascular medicine of EUGMS
