Augustine Odili is a consultant cardiologist at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital and a professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the College of Health Sciences, University of Abuja. His research focuses on cardiovascular epidemiology with particular interest on impact of salt and diabetes on hypertension and other CVDs. He is the lead investigator at the Circulatory Health Research Laboratory, where he works with a team of other researchers drawn from basic, clinical, social and behavioural science faculties, with an overarching aim of creating circulatory health solutions for CVDs. He initiated a number of large scale epidemiological research projects including REmoving the MAsk on Hypertension (REMAH), Nigerian Population Research on Environment, Gene and Health (NIPREGH) and Nigerian Salt Survey. He serves in the councils of Nigerian Cardiac Society as General Secretary and Nigerian Hypertension Society as Vice President.
