Biography
Professor Colin Berry holds a Chair in Cardiology and Imaging in the University of Glasgow. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. Professor Berry is Director of the British Heart Foundation Centre of Research Excellence in the University of Glasgow. He is also Director of Research and Development in the NHS Golden Jubilee hospital. He is also a Consultant Cardiologist in this hospital and in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow. His clinical interests are Imaging and Interventional Cardiology.
Professor Berry's research is focused on small vessel disease as a multisystem disorder and sex differences in ischaemic heart disease - https://www.gla.ac.uk/researchinstitutes/icams/staff/colinberry/#/. He is currently leading the University of Glasgow response into the cardiovascular complications of COVID-19.
