Biography
Anne-Christine Ruwald, MD, PhD, is a cardiologist and certified heart failure (HF) specialist based in Copenhagen, Denmark, and a PCHF alumnus. Her clinical expertise spans acute, chronic, and advanced HF, including MCS and heart transplantation. She is a clinical trialist and plays a leading role in investigator-initiated clinical trials and multinational collaborations, particularly within HF and atrial fibrillation, and the management of cardiac sarcoidosis. She served as Task Force Coordinator for the 2026 ESC Guidelines for the Management of Heart Failure. She is a member of the ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee and ESC Education Committee, co-chair of the HFA Scientific Committee on Diagnosis of Heart Failure, and a member of the ESC Volunteer Advisory Group. She is committed to advancing evidence-based HF care through research, education, and international collaboration. She is married with four children and enjoys spending time with her family.
