Professor Ioanna Gouni-Berthold

Professor Ioanna Gouni-Berthold has been ranked as one of the top experts in Endocrinology and Lipid Disorders in Germany as well as a World Expert in Hyperlipidemia. She is an Executive Board Member of the International Atherosclerosis Society and the Vice President and President Elect of the German, Austrian and Swiss Society for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases. She is a member of numerous National and International Societies and serves in the editorial boards of multiple Journals. Her main research interests include lipid and metabolic disorders, lipid-modifying treatments, diabetes and atherosclerosis. She has been serving as Steering Committee member of multiple national and international pivotal lipid trials. She has received numerous awards and her research has been published in Journals such as the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet and the JAMA. Her work has been cited in more than 8.000 publications. She speaks English, German and Greek.
