Professor Petr Kala

Dr. Kala has been involved in the cardiology care from 1994 and has founded the program of interventional cardiology in his hospital. He has worked as the head of acute and interventional cardiology programs for many years and from 2019 he has been appointed as the head of the Department of Internal Medicine and Cardiology. From 2007 he has been actively participating at EAPCI and served as the chairman of EAPCI/EuroPCR Stent for Life Initiative and the EAPCI Executive Committee 2012-2016. His research interest is focused on patients with acute coronary syndrome and several topics of interventional cardiology, i.e. coronary physiology, imaging, TAVI etc. He has published more than 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals, number of book chapters and he has edited two books. Currently, his Hirsch index is 23.
