Doctor Sophia Anastasia Mouratoglou

Dr Sophia-Anastasia Mouratoglou is a clinical cardiologist–intensivist with a primary scientific focus on pulmonary hypertension and right ventricular function. She is currently affiliated with the 3rd Department of Cardiology of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, where she serves as the physician in charge for the Coronary Care Unit since 2024. She obtained her MD from Aristotle University (2005), followed by two MSc degrees: one in Medical Research Methodology (Aristotle University, 2011) and one in Pulmonary Vascular Diseases (University of Bologna, 2016). She completed her PhD with distinction in 2018, focusing on imaging and biomarkers in pulmonary arterial hypertension. She has authored/co-authored numerous scientific publications indexed in PubMed and she has been awarded research scholarships from the European Social Fund as well as numerous research grants. She has license to practice medicine in Greece and in Germany.
