Biography
Dr. Tran Thong worked in the electronic industry for 18 years in various technical and management positions prior to joining the Biotronik group (Berlin, Germany) as Vice-President in the US subsidiary, MSEI. There he led the development of implantable defibrillators and pacemakers for Biotronik. He then joined the Biomedical Engineering faculty of Oregon Health & Science University. He is now retired from the University. He is a principal in the Vietnamese distributor of Biotronik cardiac rhythm management devices and provides technical assistance. He is a visiting Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Hue University, Hue, Vietnam. He is also on the board of the Vietnamese Heart Rhythm Society. He is a Life Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (USA).
