Biography
Norma Caples is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Heart Failure at University Hospital Waterford, Ireland, with over 27 years of experience working in cardiology.
In her current role, she has developed a Rapid Initiation of Heart Failure Medication Clinic, an ANP-led Diagnostic Heart Failure Clinic, and community clinics, including the administration of intravenous iron.
Norma is a past Lead Nurse for the National Heart Failure Programme and the National Heart Programme in Ireland.
She is also a past Chair of the Irish Nurses Cardiovascular Association (INCA) and the Irish Association of Heart Failure Nurses (IAHFNurses), and is an Honorary Fellow of the National Institute for Prevention and Cardiovascular Health (NIPC).
She is currently undertaking a PhD at Trinity College Dublin, examining the use of a mobile app in weight monitoring as part of heart failure self-care.
