Biography
Dr Sonya Babu-Narayan is a consultant adult congenital heart disease cardiologist at Royal Brompton Hospital, researcher at Imperial College London and associate medical director (clinical research) at the British Heart Foundation. She obtained ESC accreditation in both general cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) and congenital heart disease CMR. In 2006 she was awarded an AHA Outstanding Contribution to Paediatric Research Award for a congenital heart disease randomised trial. She has served more than a dozen years as a local research ethics committee member, was associate editor for Journal of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance 2013-2017 and is associate editor at Heart. She is the current elected UK British Congenital Cardiac Association Scientific Officer and served as British Society of CMR task force lead for congenital heart disease research.
