Professor Empar Lurbe

Empar Lurbe has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Valencia. She is a specialist in Pediatrics and Nephrology, and was a Hypertension Research Fellow at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, Illinois, USA, and furthermore a Fellow of the Council for High Blood Pressure American Heart Association. Prof. Lurbe is currently Head of Department of Pediatrics, in the General Hospital of Valencia and full Professor of Pediatrics, University of Valencia. She is a member of the Editorial Board of scientific journals in the field of pediatrics and hypertension and besides the vice president of the ESH and the coordinator for the ESH Guidelines for the Management of High Blood Pressure in Children and Adolescents (2009 and 2016). Her research has been focused on the pediatric field with an emphasis on hypertension and obesity and the impact of intrauterine life on cardiovascular risk factors.
