After medical studying in Frankfurt/Main University and short military physician service academic career had been performed at Mainz University where Uwe had received his degree as an internist as well as cardiologist and a regular Associate Professor. His main scientific field had been echocardiography having been involved in the development of stress echocardiography as well as tissue Doppler. Within his following period as a cardiology consultant at Erlangen University he complemented this by furthe cross-sectional imaging modalities such as computed tomography (MDCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Then, having expanded his interest towards preventivecCardiology Uwe had founded the European Prevention Center (EPC) which he is running until nowadays. Algorithms have been built up from CV risk stratification to imaging preclinical atherosclerosis ending up with comprehensive preventive measures in lifestyle modification and preventive drug therapies.
