Martin Kleissner is a senior cardiologist at the Acute Cardiology Division of Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague. He is also a doctoral student in Human Physiology and Pathophysiology at the Third Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He got his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2007 at the Second Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague. His career is closely linked to the intensive care of patients - at the beginning he worked as a physician at the intensive care unit of an internal medicine department, later on he was shaped in the critical care of patients with heart diseases by renowned experts at the Cardiology Department at IKEM. In his doctoral studies he investigates the treatment and prognostication of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest victims; he is the first author of impacted papers in this field. Post-resuscitation care is his favourite topic. He is a member of Czech and European Society of Cardiology.
