Dr. Samar Noureddine is tenured Professor, Convener of the Graduate Division and coordinator of the Adult-Gerontology track in the Masters of Nursing Sciences at the Hariri School of Nursing, American University of Beirut. Her area of specialty is cardiovascular nursing. Dr. Noureddine is an 'International Fellow' at the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Noureddine’s research focuses on cardiovascular risk reduction, including health related behaviors (diet and smoking) and the seeking of emergency care during acute coronary events. She also validated the illness perception questionnaire and the Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaires in the Lebanese population. Her recent program of research addressed practices related to out-of-hospital cardiopulmonary resuscitation that culminated in a proposal for an amendment of the Criminal Law 567 to include at its end a section that mimics the Good Samaritan Law, which is awaiting approval.
