Biography
Prof. Mehra is the William Harvey Chair in Advanced Cardiovascular Medicine and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He serves as Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Heart Disease at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Dr. Mehra was the founding Medical Director of the Heart and Vascular Center at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (2013-2019) and served as Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation from 2010 to 2020, and as President of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) in 2008 and the Heart Failure Society of America (HFSA) in 2016. He has also been honored with an Honorary Master’s degree from Harvard University, along with a certificate in Executive Leadership from Harvard Business School. He has a Masters from the LSE, earned through designation as a "Braunwald Scholar". In 2024, the HFSA recognized him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
