Dr Lavin graduated from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2006. He started his Specialist Neurology Training in 2011 in the North West gaining experience in General Neurology and developing a special interest in Peripheral Nerve Disorders.
He began as a Consultant Neurologist with a special interest in Peripheral Neuropathy at Manchester Centre for Clinical Neuroscience (MCCN) in 2017, where he is now Clinical Director of Neurology. He is part of the Specialist Tertiary Neuropathy Service at MCCN , and the highly specialised NF2 service at Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine. He is Education Lead of the British Peripheral Nerve Society, and is on the Medical Advisory Board of the charity Guillain-Barre and Associated Inflammatory Neuropathies (GAIN).
