Yasmine has over ten years of experience working in healthcare and research in the NHS and academia. Starting her career in molecular and translational research, she applied this knowledge to work directly with patients as team lead in lung and the early phase oncology clinical trials. She moved into global health research, leading a large and global research team in paediatric and neonatal infectious diseases, specifically working on global antimicrobial resistance and neonatal sepsis research. Yasmine is currently undertaking a Masters in Global Health Policy at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where she is studying the effects of the environment and air pollution on global health. Yasmine now works as the Senior Health Specialist at the Clean Air Fund, making the move from research to policy, and advocates for the health and rights of people globally. Alongside this, Yasmine volunteers to campaign for global health issues and human and children's rights.
