Doctor Howard Herrmann

Howard C. Herrmann, MD, the John W. Bryfogle Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine, serves as the Health System Director and Section Chief for Interventional Cardiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Herrmann earned his AB at Harvard College and his MD at Harvard Medical School. After graduating, he completed his internship and residency in medicine, and his fellowship in cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital before joining the Penn faculty. Dr. Herrmann has authored or coauthored more than 500 articles and his current research focuses on transcatheter device therapies for valvular and structural heart disease. He is a past President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Cardiology, was the first recipient of Penn’s Louis Duhring Outstanding Clinical Specialist Award, and received the Master Designation of the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention.
