Professor Mahmoud Hassanein graduated from the School of Medicine, Alexandria University in November 1976. In 1987, he was granted the PhD Degree in Cardiology and Angiology and appointed as lecturer in Cardiology till 1992 and then as assistant professor of Cardiology (1992-1997). Since then, he held the tenure of professor of cardiology in Alexandria University. He participated, as a representative of the Egyptian Society of Cardiology, in 2 major registries of the ESC, viz. ESC heart failure long-term registry and peripartum cardiomyopathy registry. Prof.Hassanein is the principal investigator and author of the Egyptian heart failure registry. He acted as editor-in-Chief of the Egyptian Heart Journal (official journal of the Egyptian Society of Cardiology) from 2011-2020 and Past president of the Egyptian Working Group on Heart Failure. Research Activities: Professor Hassanein has particular interest in Heart Failure.
