Associate Professor Sue Wells

Associate Professor Sue Wells is Head of Department General Practice and Primary Health Care at the School of Population Health, University of Auckland. She was a GP for 10 years before becoming a public health medicine specialist focusing on CVD epidemiology. Since 2002, Sue has led the New Zealand PREDICT cohort study which generated the new national CVD risk equations, co-developed Your Heart Forecast risk communication tool and was one of seven NZ e-health ambassadors supporting the adoption of patient portals. She is also Co-Director of a 5-year research programme called VAREANZ (Vascular risk equity for Aotearoa New Zealand). Her current research interests are multimorbidity, CVD risk assessment and equity of management.
