Doctor Rosemary Kirk

Rosemary is a PhD candidate at the University of Oxford, studying with a Rhodes Scholarship. She is completing her project under the supervision of Prof Hugh Watkins and A/Prof Christopher Toepfer as part of the CureHeart team, aiming to find cures for inherited heart muscle diseases. Previously Rosemary worked as a junior doctor in Australia, having completed a BMed/MD at the University of New South Wales with the University Medal. During this period she completed a year-long research project with Prof Sally Dunwoodie looking at gene-environment interactions causing congenital defects and miscarriage in a mouse model. In the future Rosemary hopes to work as a clinician-scientist in the genetic cardiology field.
