Professor Andreas Pfeiffer

Andreas F.H. Pfeiffer studied medicine in Kiel and Freiburg, Germany and Montpellier, France and speaks German, English and French. He studied endogenous opioid systems in the Max Planck Institute in Munich since 1979, and the NIH/Bethesda, USA 1981 - 1983, and completed his habilitation on opioid receptor subtypes at the University in Munich and worked clinically in the University Medical School Klinikum Großhadern, Munich. 1990 he served as MD (Chief Resident) Univ. Bochum, Klinikum Bergmannsheil. In 2000 Full Professor of Internal Medicine at the Free University of Berlin, later Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin, and was Director of the Dept. of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition, Campus Benjamin Franklin (CBF) together with the Dept. of Human Nutrition at the German Insitute of Human Nutrition, Potsdam. Since 2019 he is Senior Professor. He coauthored > 400 peer reviewed articles about neuroendocrine systems, diabetes, obesity, and nutritional endocrinology and immunology.
