Biography
Dr. M Reza Movahed received his med degree and Dr. Med (PhD) from Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Germany. Interventional Cardiology at Yale University in 2000. In July 2010, he was promoted to Prof. of Med, Tenure at the Univ. of Arizona with over 300 publications and is Clinical Prof. of Med at the U of A, Phoenix. He has been Director of Cardiac Cath Lab and Nuclear Card. at the UCI and Dir. of CCU and Med. Dir. of Cardi. Transplantation at the U of. A. He was The Regional Cardiology Director of CareMore. He is world-renowned for his coronary bifurcation classification known as “The Movahed Classification” and discovery on the flatt interventricular septum as a sign for right ventricular overload called “ Movahed’s sign on Gated SPECT and reverse “Movahed Maneuver” for stent deliverability in tortuous vein grafts. His patents are: A device for removal of contrast from coronary sinus and device that can measure cross sectional lumen of a vessel. He is AHA board president in AZ.
