Professor Massimiliano Meineri

Dr. Meineri is the Co-Director of the Department of Anesthesia at the Herzzentrum Leipzig. Graduated in Medicine at the University of Torino, Italy where he also completed his Residency in Anesthesia and Intensive Care. For 15 years he has served as a staff Anesthesiologist, at the University Health Network’s Toronto General Hospital where he previously completed Fellowship training in Cardiac Anesthesia and Intensive Care. At Toronto General Hospital he was the Director of the Perioperative Echocardiography Group, funded and directed the Advanced perioperative Imaging Lab (www.apil.ca). He’s been involved in the development of on-line echocardiography teaching resources for the Perioperative Interactive Education website (pie.med.utoronto.ca). He’s involved in the leadership of numerous Societies such as SCA, DGAI and EACTAIC with the scope of organizing Perioperative Echocardiography Conferences and Research.
