Professor Saket Girotra

Dr. Saket Girotra is a Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He is a health services and cardiovascular outcomes researcher and directs a vibrant research program focused on improving healthcare delivery for cardiac arrest and PAD. His laboratory applies innovative methods to real world data to characterize variation in care quality and outcomes across hospitals or health systems and identify best practices with the goal of improving outcomes and reducing disparities. Recently, he launched the Peripheral Artery Disease: Long-term Survival (PEARLS) study that includes >100,000 veterans with new-onset PAD, one of the largest PAD registries in the world. The PEARLS registry is a unique resource to conduct longitudinal studies of PAD treatment and their impact on long-term outcomes.
