Fabio De Robertis, MD, is a Consultant Cardiac & Transplant Surgeon at the Royal Brompton & Harefield NHSFT, UK, where he is the lead surgeon for HOCM; chairperson of the aortic and of the infective endocarditis subspecialty MDTs; audit lead for cardiac outcomes in the Quality & Safety Dept. He obtained his under- & post-graduate degrees from the University of Naples (Magna cum Laude, MD with Honours). Winner of an Erasmus Fellowship that he spent in Belgium. In London he focused his career on complex cardiac conditions under the mentorship of Sir Magdi Yacoub first, the Harefield & Brompton schools later. The diseases he treats range from structural heart problems (valves, LV aneurysms, rhythm, major aorta), cardiomyopathies & end-stage HF. His expertise includes: myectomy, Ross procedure, valve reconstruction, root surgery, endocarditis, transplantation and mechanical circulatory support. He is the PI in trails and authored many peer reviewed articles.
