Biography
Ronny Ralf Buechel is a cardiac imaging expert. He is a Professor at the University of Zurich and deputy director of the Department of Nuclear Imaging of the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. He received his medical degree in 2006 and is board certified in nuclear medicine and cardiology. His clinical work and research extends to all fields of non-invasive and multimodality cardiac imaging, including SPECT, PET, CT, MRI and echocardiography. He is a member of the editorial board of the EHJ – Imaging Methods and Practice, the EHJ - Open, the Journal of Nuclear Cardiology, and of IMAGING. Furthermore, Professor Buechel is co-chair of the EACVI Nuclear Certification and Accreditation Sub-Committee and a task force member of the 2024 ESC guidelines for the management of chronic coronary syndromes.
