Dr Stephanie Chacar started her career in 2011 by earning a BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics from USJ, Lebanon. She completed a Master’s degree in food chemistry at USJ. Later on, she pursued a Doctor of Philosophy – PhD in “Life Sciences/Physiology and Pathophysiology” from USJ and Poitiers University, France whereby she was testing the effect of long term intake of phenolic compounds on age-related cardiac remodeling. Dr Chacar authored several papers published in peer reviewed journals. After completing her PhD, Dr Chacar was appointed as an instructor at USJ and Lebanese German University to teach courses in various nutrition and health related disciplines. Dr Chacar is currently undergoing her Postdoctoral training at Dr Moni Nader lab in the department of Medical Sciences, CMHS, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi. Her research interests are focused on scaffold/membrane proteins and their role in regulating cardiac function in diabetic and hypertrophic cardiomyopathies.
