Associate Professor Svetlana Reilly

University of Oxford, Oxford (United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland)

Member of:

European Society of Cardiology

Dr Reilly is trained as a physician-scientist with a focus on cardiovascular medicine and biomedical research. Her laboratory studies the basic mechanisms of structural remodeling (mainly cardiac fibrosis), particularly in the setting of atrial fibrillation (AF). Their research prioritises the discovery of novel drug targets and biomarkers in AF and adverse myocardial remodeling. Of a particular interest is cardiac calcitonin signaling, microRNAs and drug repurposing for AF/cardiac fibrosis. Dr Reilly is member of numerous scientific societies, journal/funder-reviewing committees and on the editorial board of the Canadian Journal of Cardiology. She is currently a Senior British Heart Foundation (BHF) Research Fellow, a PI at the BHF Oxford Center of Research Excellence, Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Science, a member of the BHF ‘Heart of Oxford’ Business Board, a member of the Oxford University REF committee. She is fluent in English and Russian.
