Associate Professor Cameron McAlpine

Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York (United States of America)

Dr. Cameron McAlpine received his PhD from McMaster University in Canada and completed postdoctoral training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. Currently, he is an Associate Professor and Principal Investigator in the Cardiovascular Research Institute, the Department of Medicine, and the Department of Neuroscience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City. The overarching theme of Dr. McAlpine's research program is to study neuro-immune interactions in cardiovascular and neurodegenerative diseases. We focus on how myeloid and glial cells interact in the brain and how the brain bidirectionally communicates with the peripheral immune system through neuropeptide and inflammatory pathways to program myeloid cell function and hematopoiesis.
