Nicola Roberts is a health services researcher and an associate professor within the School of health and social care, with an interest in the delivery of care for long term conditions, mostly focusing on those with respiratory illnesses. Her current focus is on two main areas, firstly, upskilling staff and students to deliver care. The second area of focus is on improving delivery of respiratory care in pulmonary rehabilitation in particular pulmonary rehabilitation. Embedded in her research are key themes that are pertinent in healthcare interactions such as health and digital literacy, patient activation and self-management. She is interested in evaluating potential social prescribing real life interventions such as singing, dog companionship and their potential impact on health outcomes.
