Dr O' Hanlon completed his CMR fellowship in the Royal Brompton Hospital, London, in 2009 and returned to Ireland to set the 1st dedicated CMR service in Ireland in Blackrock Clinic. The department scans over 5500 patients per year, with a national referral base. He has now expanding his service to a new dedicated CMR service in the Beacon Hospital. His specialty interests include cardiomyopathies, sports cardiology, and heart failure.
