Mr Nikola Srnic

Oxford (United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland)

Nikola is an MD/PhD student at the University of Alberta in Canada (MD) and University of Oxford (PhD in Cardiovascular Science), he is interested in how alterations in human metabolism drive the development of cardiometabolic disease. His current research uses a combination of techniques including stable-isotope tracers, magnetic resonance imaging and spectroscopy, molecular biology, and bioinformatics to investigate how dietary fat composition in humans influences systemic, hepatic, and cardiac metabolism and function.

An isocaloric high fat diet enriched with saturated compared to polyunsaturated fat has a more detrimental effect on clinical cardiometabolic risk factors in healthy humans
