Mr Maximiliaan Lukas Notenboom

Erasmus University Medical Centre, Rotterdam (Netherlands (The))

Max is currently working as a PhD Candidate at the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam, where his scientific focus lies in natural history and surgical outcome of paediatric and adult congenital heart disease of the left ventricular outflow tract, under supervision of Prof. Dr. Ad Bogers. Within these spectra of diseases, he aims to elucidate the role of reconstructive therapies such as the Ross operation and valve repair. Furthermore, his research investigates the natural history and surgical outcome of aneurysmal and dissecting pathologies of the ascending aorta in a multicenter setting in The Netherlands, under supervision of Prof. Dr. Roos-Hesselink and Prof. Dr. Takkenberg. His interests lie in employing innovative statistical methods such as microsimulation and repeated measurements analysis to model outcomes and to adequately inform patients regarding these outcomes, both pre- and postoperatively. PhD period: 2021-2024.
