Doctor Tim Fairbairn

Dr Fairbairn is a Consultant Cardiologist at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, senior lecturer at the University of Liverpool and and an MRC Fellow. Graduating in medicine from the University of Manchester, his clinical training was in Northern England, completing a PhD at the University of Leeds and an International Fellowship at Toronto General Hospital, Canada. He specialises in advanced echocardiography, cardiovascular MRI and cardiac CT. Clinical and research interests include coronary disease, aortic valve disease and TAVI. He is a member of NICE's Technology appraisal group, an associate editor for JCCT, EACVI CT exam and accreditation board member and a BSE research committee member. Academically, he has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and research awards from the American Heart Association and British Society of Cardiac MRI (BSCMR). He is chief investigator for the FISH and CHIPS study
