Isabela completed her MSc in Movement Sciences (2021) at the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Brazil, investigating aquatic exercise in older adults with hypertension. During her master's, she performed two international research internships at the KU Leuven in Belgium (2020) and at the uOttawa in Canada (2021). Currently, she is a PhD student (2022-2026) in Human Kinetics with the Exercise Physiology and Cardiovascular Health Lab (EPCHL) at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute under the supervision of Dr. Reed. She is passionate about exercise-based cardiovascular rehabilitation and how it restores and improves the physical and mental health of patients. When she is not working, Isabela enjoys practicing sports and spending time with her family.
